Marketing Director
Reporting to the Vice President, Marketing & Communications, the Director of Marketing will play a leadership role in the ongoing development and implementation of strategies for increasing UNICEF’s visibility and relevancy in the U.S. to increase revenue, awareness and engagement for the organization.
Key Responsibilities/Outcomes (include but are not limited to):
Lead marketing strategies across all channels to position UNICEF as the world’s leading humanitarian organization for children; collaborate with Marketing & Communications colleagues to ensure alignment and prioritization of key assets
Develop and oversee integrated marketing plans for key marketing campaigns (Key Moments) and for all consumer-facing brand awareness initiatives and responsible for comprehensive end-of-campaign reporting
Work closely with other divisional teams to define ambitious yet achievable campaign KPIs with the objective of significantly contributing to the individual donors strategy, focusing primarily on acquisition and conversion
Work closely with Project Management Office colleagues to craft and disseminate campaign plans across the organization and function as liaison to ensure the execution across all channels and groups
Work with Donor Strategy and Experience team to leverage UNICEF’s domestic target audience; implement actionable insights and share knowledge across the organization
Provide marketing support and executional guidance to UNICEF USA divisions for priority projects; oversee brand integration on an ongoing basis
Develop and grow external marketing, media and promotional partnerships to build awareness, familiarity and affinity for the UNICEF brand within the U.S.
Provide the Vice President, Marketing and Communication with recommendations on promotional and research budget allocations
Work with Brand and Donor Strategy teams to establish ad-hoc research initiatives to supplement on-going audience understanding and development
Work with and manage all marketing, creative, and media agencies and partners to ensure in-market delivery of assets during all integrated marketing campaigns
Direct, manage, and mentor marketing staff, providing coaching, development opportunities, and performance evaluation
Provide marketing expertise and support to the Corporate team to establish and cultivate high profile partnerships, attending key meetings, creating smart marketing plans that integrate external support within UNICEF USA key moments
Support the Vice President of Marketing & Communications as required
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of marketing/campaign management experience
Proven track record developing and implementing successful integrated campaign plans
Proven ability to lead, supervise, and coach members of staff
Strong expertise in digital marketing, social media activation, and data-driven decision making
Expertise in all mediums and platforms, and in forging high profile marketing partnerships
Strategic thinker with both strong creative and analytical skills
Excellent oral and written communications skills and excellent presentation and negotiation skills are essential
Must be able to work collaboratively as a member of the Marketing Division and as a UNICEF USA team member with colleagues in other departments
Knowledge of the not-for-profit fundraising environment is preferred
