Planned Giving Officer
The U.S. Fund for UNICEF’s Planned Giving department is looking to add a new team member w ho will s hare its existing passion for UNICEF’s work and commitment to advancing legacy giving in t he U.S. If you are loo king f or a team of professionals w ho en joy t heir work, are dedicated, and desire to work in a supportive environment then we may be a good fit for you.
Reporting to the Managing Director of Planned Giving, the Planned Giving Officer is responsible for the cultivation and stewardship of loyal, annual donors, ages 50 and older, who are not currently assign ed to a major gift officer. The Planned Giving Officer will be responsible for identifying legacy intentions and promoting legacy giving while also stewarding donors who have already included USF in their estate plans.
Key Responsibilities/Outcomes (include but are not limited to):
Solicit and steward existing USF donors in face-t o -face meetings; requires travel throughout the U.S.
Prepare gift proposals and provide additional information as needed to help secure planned gifts
Inform and educate donors about various gift offerings that will address their philanthropic and financial goals while providing support for UNICEF
Work with attorneys and financial advisors as needed
Input donor contact information into t he USF database
Secure donor testimonials for use in direct mail, USF web pages and other marketing materials
Under take additional special projects as needed
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree is required; advanced degree ( MA or JD) preferred
Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience, with at lea st 2 years of planned giving experience
Strong knowledge of tax, financial and est ate planning issues
Must be a self- starter and have the ability to work remotely with limit ed daily supervision
Excellent oral and writ t en communication and interpersonal skills
Must share a strong commitment to t he mission of USF
Must have current driver’s license, required insurance, and car available for work as
required (will be reimbursed for mileage)
Must demonstrate USF Core Values: Trus t, Respect, Accountability, Innovation, Teamwork, and Service
Must possess current and valid US Work Authorization and be eligible to work for any US employer without sponsorship.
