Associate, Northwest Region (San Francisco, CA)
UNICEF USA is based in NY and operates nine regional offices throughout the country. Each regional office is focused on building long-term partnerships with high level donors through personal relationships, special events, and opportunities to be engaged strategically with UNICEF’s work. The Northwest Regional Office is based in San Francisco and works with approximately 400 donors in Northern California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, and Alaska.
The Associate will be responsible for three key functions of the Northwest Regional Team:
General office management and administrative support, including coordination with headquarters and the other regional offices
Special events support, logistics and committee coordination
Fundraising support activities, including prospect research, targeted outreach, cultivation and personalized stewardship
Key Responsibilities/Outcomes (include but are not limited to):
OFFICE MANAGEMENT and ADMINISTRATION
Provide back office support to ensure accurate financial records, compliance with company policies and procedures, and the efficient and effective day to day functioning of the regional office
Facilitate team productivity and efficiency through management of office space and equipment as well as coordination of team calendar and project management
Recruit and engage interns and administrative volunteers
FUNDRAISING
Organize the NW Regional Board and committee meetings, as well as keeping all Board lists and documents updated
Support the Northwest Major Gifts annual revenue goal through prospect research and list management, prospect matrix and coordinating outreach with volunteers and staff
Maintain donor records in UNICEF USA database and other formats, as necessary
Support donor stewardship strategy for Northwest team, including maintaining Regional Web Page and drafting of stakeholder communication
Process all donations in timely manner
SPECIAL EVENTS
Support the Northwest regional cultivation events, including the annual UNICEF Gala San Francisco and Speaker Series program
Provide high levels of customer service and create excellent guest experience for all events
Lead logistics for all events as necessary and in partnership with the Regional team and the Special Events team, including
contracting with vendors
preparing and sending out invitations, receipts, and other correspondence, including post-event gift receipts and all follow up
managing RSVPs
coordinating travel arrangements for staff outside the region and guests
preparing internal and external briefings and reports
researching guests and sponsor prospects
updating the Blackbaud CRM database with guest attendance
Support the Speakers Series Committee and Gala Committee
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years event, marketing and/or fundraising experience
Understanding and experience in a fundraising/development role is preferred but not required
Strong organizational skills, ability to work in diverse teams, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Strong interpersonal, time-management, and oral and written communication skills
Excellent attention to detail, flexibility in high-pressure situations, and the willingness to assist with all tasks needed to ensure the success of the office team
Willingness to take initiative to propose new solutions and identify new opportunities
Must be a team player, and a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual who embraces the mission of UNICEF USA
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with databases, CRM and SharePoint a plus

Must possess current and valid US Work Authorization and be eligible to work for any US employer without sponsorship.
