Manager, Development Analytics

UNICEF USA seeks an experienced Manager of Development Analytics to guide fundraisers’ use of the donor database, ensure streamlined data processes in support of its development efforts, and execute fundraising analytics and prospect management. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Development Analytics, the ideal candidate will train on database use, lead systematized data procedures, maintain the portfolio and pipeline systems, and analyze past performance to plan for future growth. The Manager will collaborate and work laterally with other team members and fundraisers based across the United States to support our ambitious divisional revenue goal of $479+ million.

Key Responsibilities/Outcomes (include but are not limited to):

  • Oversee Development donor data integrity and reports on donor data to preserve organizational knowledge and facilitate collaboration

  • Monitor and advise Development staff on gift crediting

  • Managing Development Division’s communications data lists by working in close concert with vendors and other internal teams

  • Support stewardship and recognition, including Development donor listings and levels

  • Manage Development acknowledgement systems with the goal of increasing the level of service to the organization’s largest individual donors

  • Train Development Division staff on all aspects of the donor database and serving as an on-going data resource

  • Write and running database queries to meet fundraising analysis needs

  • Assign prospects to appropriate staff; verifying that all records have appropriate assigned staff members, coding, plans, and opportunities

  • Audit prospect management system monthly

  • Oversee systems that manage portfolios and pipelines and actively collaborate with frontline fundraisers to ensure accuracy

  • Analyze fundraising efforts and distribute key metrics, including portfolio reports, pipelines, volunteer give/get reports, contact activity reports, and pyramids

  • Lead portfolio reviews with frontline fundraisers to ensure that each portfolio is balanced and maximized

  • Direct new leads process, including the prospect research, assignments, and qualification period

  • Evaluate prospecting and qualification activities in order to propose improvements

  • Present fundraising data in an engaging and accessible way to increase comprehension and usability through the use of data visualization software and mapping

  • Perform back-up prospect research as needed

  • Other projects and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and five years related experience with a minimum of three years of non-profit experience

  • Fundraising constituent relationship management software experience, including query-writing

  • Data visualization software experience preferred

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential

  • Strong client services-oriented approach

  • Ability to work with colleagues at a variety of levels across the country and to present ideas articulately

  • Ability to exercise good judgment in balancing deadlines, prioritizing multiple projects and working with ambiguity

  • Ability to think strategically, creatively, and analytically

  • Ability to handle highly sensitive information appropriately and maintain confidentiality

  • Must possess a strong work ethic, take initiative to identify solutions to problems, and be a motivated, enthusiastic team player
